Kittens, chihuahuas, and butterflies, oh my! Animals of Harlow House

Animals love Harlow House just as much as we do! While waiting for your tour, you may have noticed food bowls, water dishes, and toys scattered around the porch. We get lots of questions about who, exactly, that’s for. Don’t worry… it’s not for the interns!

This is Marley, Harlow House’s resident mouse-catcher and fluffy boy. He accepts payment in the form of belly rubs. Marley loves to wander the grounds during the day, then spends the nights in the groundskeepers’ cabin.

They may not be as snuggly as a cat or a dog, but Harlow House is also home to lots of productive insects and bugs. Bees especially love visiting the lavender and rosemary bushes. By providing them different plants they like, they help to pollinate the garden.

He’s more of a “indoor” guy, so you probably won’t see him wandering around, but Coco is Jennifer’s fur baby! He is a 2-year-old chihuahua. He loves to snuggle on the couch and watch movies. Sometimes he will accompany Jennifer on tours, so if you see something moving in her tote bag—it’s probably Coco!
